Shellbie King, Executive Chef

Shellbie King’s culinary journey to Birmingham is a symphony of flavors, textures, and creativity.

Growing up in the midwest, Shellbie spent her early cooking years working in some of the kitchens in her hometown of Clearfield, Pennsylvania. She went on to earn her culinary arts degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

It was her culinary internship that brought her to the esteemed Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina. While there she quickly earned a position as a cook, and moved through the ranks to sous chef. During that tenure, she was handpicked by Estate Food and Beverage Director, Laura Baker to partner with Executive Chef Chris Moore in a mentorship program. A few years later, it was that relationship that brought her to The Chattanoogan Hotel, to work as the Chef De Cuisine under Chef Chris, who was simultaneously the Executive Chef at The Elyton Hotel. Shellbie quickly became the obvious choice to assume the Executive Chef role at the historic Four Diamond property in Birmingham, Alabama.

Her approach to cooking is a delicate balance of tradition and innovation, blending the classics with a touch of the unexpected. Every dish is meticulously crafted to entice the senses as she thoughtfully selects ingredients to create unforgettable dining experiences for our guests.
